A great way to begin a new project, whether it is a website design, a logo, or print materials, is to find some inspiration!

I particularly like Alicja’s photograph because of the colors. The varying shades of purple flower in the foreground contrast beautifully with the splashes of green, yellow, and beige in the background. If you find an inspirational photograph, Kuler has a fun tool to generate a color scheme. Go to the Kuler website and click “Create” in the left column. You can create a scheme from a single color or by uploading an image. In creating a website color scheme, it is important to remember to create a cohesive  scheme that reflects the purpose of the website and type of company/organization, and works well with the logo.

Anyway, I am not going to dive deep into traditional color theory or anything in this post – I just wanted to share a beautiful photograph and show you how you can use it for inspiration! What do you think this color scheme would be appropriate for?
